Let us Chant Rama’s Name…Receive Benefits Every day!
Today (April 5, 2017) is the birthday of Avatara Purusha Sri Rama. This
day is joyously celebrated all over the country as SriRama Navami.
Ramayana and Mahabharata are the two eyes of Bharat (India). As the
great rivers of India flow, their alluvial soil and water support our
sustenance. Likewise, these two Great Epics bring people together and
are our cultural legacy.

Though Rama and Krishna are the Avatars of Tirumal, small basic
difference exists between the two great epics. Rama does not know what
comes next in his life. Krishna knows what comes next. Since they
incarnated on earth to defeat, degrade and destroy the evils of the
Asuras, Rama was born in Navami and Krishna in Ashtami.
Navami = the ninth Lunar day
after the new or full moon.
Ashtami: The 8th day of the lunar month.

He is the peerless son, brother, husband, savior, king, warrior
according equal respect to his enemies, and a holy person leading a life
of Dharma without remiss, remaining an exemplary roll player and grantor
of grace.
As, on the first day, preparations for coronation were taking place and
on the second day, his step mother Kaikeyī’s
earlier boon created the condition to banish him to the forest, SriRama
accepted them with equipoise and smiles. The trials and tribulations of
banishment to the forest, the separation from Sita resulting from her
abduction by Ravana, and rescuing Sita from Ravana caused untold
miseries to Rama. Not
perturbed by anything and emerging victorious, Bhagavan SriRama, born
among men, lived an exemplary and impeccable lifestyle.

This day being the birthday of SriRama, we should observe a vow, perform
Puja and chant his holy name to remove unhappiness from our lives and
obtain prosperity and the grace of Lakshmi.
In the evening, participate in the Rāma
Nāma
Saṅkīrtana
Bajanai (group singing of praise of Rama’s name) in the nearby Perumal
Temple. Wherever there is
recitation of Rama’s name, therein remains Anjaneya conferring grace to
the devotees. |
