The frog tells the princess the story of two friends who happened to be frogs. Yes, it is a frog story. They were Goliath and Dinesh. When the lake was losing water from lack of rain, Dinesh went away to a brcakish oean against Goliath's advice. The salty water gave him an itch and he came back to join Goliath. By that time rains came and the lake was full.

Join Our Channel 1.ஹாய்... என் பேரு கதை தவளை. என் வயசு என்னன்னு எனக்கே தெரியாது. நான் ரொம்ப ரொம்ப வருஷங்களாகவே கதைகள் சொல்லிட்டிருக்கேன். கதைகள் சொல்றதுக்காகவே அடிக்கடி இடம் மாறிட்டே இருப்பேன். அப்படித்தான் ரொம்ப வருஷத்துக்கு முன்னாடி ஓர் அரண்மனையின் தடாகத்தில்... தடாகம்னா தெரியுமா? 2.இன்னிக்குப் பெரிய பங்களாக்களில் இருக்கே ஸ்விம்மிங்பூல், அப்படி. ஒரு வித்தியாசம்... ஸ்விம்மிங்பூலில் நாங்க இருக்க மாட்டோம். ஏன்னா, அது செயற்கையா உருவாக்கினது. சுத்தம்னு சொல்லி எங்களை விரட்டிடுவாங்க. ஆனால், தடாகம் அப்படியில்லே , இயற்கையாகப் பல உயிர்களின் வாழிடமாக இருக்கும். அதுதான் நல்லது. 3.சரி, கதைக்கு வருவோம். அந்த அரண்மனை அரசர் ஒருநாள் இளவரசியை எதுக்கோ கோபமா திட்டிட்டார். இளவரசி அழுதுகிட்டே தடாகம் பக்கத்தில் வந்து உட்கார்ந்தாங்க. அவங்க அழுகையைப் போக்கறதுக்கு நான் பேச்சுக் கொடுத்து சொன்ன கதையை இப்போ உங்களுக்கும் சொல்றேன். 4.குட்டி இளவரசி... கதை சொல்லும் தவளை! அந்த ஊரின் ஏரியில் கோலியாத் மற்றும் டினேஸ் என்கிற இரண்டு தவளை நண்பர்கள் இருந்தார்கள். சாப்பிடுவது, விளையாடுவது, தூங்குவது என எப்போதும் ஒன்றாகவே இருப்பார்கள். அந்த ஏரியில் அவங்களுக்குத் தேவையான எல்லாமே கிடைச்சது. ஆனாலும், கோலியாத்துக்கு ஒரு குறை. தன் அப்பா, அம்மாவைப் பார்க்கணும் என்று அடிக்கடி நினைத்து, சோகமா இருப்பான். 5.கோலியாத் கவலையைப் போக்க டினேஸ் முடிவுசெய்தான். தனக்குத் தெரிந்த நண்பர்களிடம் சொல்லி, எப்படியோ கோலியாத்தின் அப்பா, அம்மா இருக்கும் இடத்தைக் கண்டுபிடிச்சுட்டாங்க. ஏழு ஊர் தாண்டி ஒரு குளத்தில் அவர்கள் இருந்தாங்க. அந்த இடத்தை அடைவதற்கு இரண்டு வாரங்களாவது ஆகும். அதனால், பருந்து நண்பனிடம் உதவி கேட்டாங்க. 6.‘‘நீங்க வேறு பருந்து கண்ணில் பட்டால் உணவாகிடுவீங்க. அதனால, உங்களை ஒரு பையில் சுற்றி என் வாயில் கவ்விட்டுப் பறக்கிறேன்'' என்ற பருந்து, அதன்படியே தூக்கிட்டுப் போனான். 7.குட்டி இளவரசி... கதை சொல்லும் தவளை! அப்பா, அம்மாவைப் பார்த்ததும் சந்தோஷத்தில் துள்ளிக் குதித்தான் கோலியாத். நண்பனுக்குச் சிறந்த பரிசு கொடுத்ததாக சந்தோஷப்பட்ட டினேஸ், ‘‘கோலியாத் நீ பெற்றோருடனே இருந்துடு. நான் ஊருக்குப் போறேன்'' என்றான். 8.இதைக் கேட்ட கோலியாத், ‘‘எனக்கு விவரம் தெரிந்ததிலிருந்து நீதான் என்னோடு இருக்கே. உன்கூடத்தான் கடைசி வரை இருப்பேன்'' எனச் சொல்லிவிட்டு அப்பா, அம்மாவிடமிருந்து விடைபெற்றுக் கிளம்பினான். தன் நண்பனை நினைத்து டினேஸுக்குப் பெருமிதம். 9.பல வருடங்கள் போச்சு. ஊர்க்காரங்க இந்த ஏரியில்தான் தண்ணீர் எடுத்தாங்க. வெயிலின் தாக்கம் அதிகமாகிட்டே இருந்துச்சு. ஏரியில் தண்ணீர் குறைய ஆரம்பிச்சது. நிறைய தவளைகளின் முட்டைகள் பெருசாக முடியாமல் சூட்டில் இறந்துபோச்சு. கோலியாத்துக்கும் டினோஸுக்கும் வேதனை. 10. ‘‘நத்தை, மீன், தேரை என எல்லோரும் கஷ்டப்படறாங்க. நாம வேற இடத்தைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கணும்'' என்றான் டினேஸ். 11.குட்டி இளவரசி... கதை சொல்லும் தவளை! கோலியாத் இதற்கு ஒத்துக்கலை. ‘‘சொந்த இடத்தை விட்டுப் போகவேண்டாம். நல்லது நடக்கும். இங்கேயே இருப்போம்'' என்றான். 12.‘‘உனக்காவது அப்பா, அம்மா இருக்காங்க. ரொம்ப கஷ்டம் வந்துட்டா அங்கே போயிடுவே. நாங்க என்ன செய்யறது? அதனால், என்றைக்கும் வற்றாத கடல் தண்ணீர் இருக்கும் இடத்தைத் தேடிப்போறேன்'' என்று கிளம்பிட்டான் டினேஸ். 13.கோலியாத் நம்பிக்கை இழக்கலை. மழை பெய்யும், தண்ணீர் இந்த ஏரிக்கு வரும் என்று உறுதியாக நம்பினான். தன் நண்பர்களிடம், ‘‘நாம எல்லோரும் சேர்ந்து இயற்கையிடம் பிரார்த்தனை செய்வோம்'' என்றான். 14.அன்றைக்கு ராத்திரியே தவளைகள் எல்லாம் சேர்ந்து சத்தமாகப் பிரார்த்தனையை ஆரம்பிச்சாங்க. இப்படியே தினமும் தொடர்ந்தது. ஏரி ஓரமா குடிசையில் இருந்த ஒரு தாத்தாவுக்குப் பொறுக்க முடியலை. ‘‘எதுக்கு இப்படி கத்துதுங்க'' என்று கல்லை எறிவார். அந்த நேரத்தில் அமைதியாக இருந்துவிட்டு பிறகு பிரார்த்தனையை ஆரம்பிப்பாங்க. 15.இப்படிப் பல நாள்கள் கோலியாத் கஷ்டப்பட, டினோஸ் சில நண்பர்களின் உதவியுடன் கடல் இருக்கும் இடத்தை அடைந்தான். சந்தோஷமாகத் தாவிக் குதித்து தண்ணீரில் இறங்கினான். ஆனால், உப்புக் கரிக்கும் அந்த நீரில் இருக்க முடியலை. 16.‘‘இங்கே எப்படி வசிக்கிறது? உன்னை நம்பி வந்தது ரொம்ப தப்பு'' என்று மற்ற தவளைகள் திட்டின. 17.குட்டி இளவரசி... கதை சொல்லும் தவளை! கோலியாத் பேச்சை கேட்காமல் வந்தது தவறு என வருத்தப்பட்டான் டினேஸ். மீண்டும் ஊர் நோக்கிப் பயணிக்க ஆரம்பிச்சாங்க. 18.அதேநேரம்... கோலியாத் மற்றும் நண்பர்களின் தொடர் பிரார்த்தனைக்கு இயற்கை மகிழ்ந்தது. மழையை அனுப்பியது. எல்லோருக்கும் சந்தோஷம். உற்சாகமாகத் துள்ளி குதிச்சாங்க. அங்கே வந்து சேர்ந்த டினேஸ் குழுவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டாங்க. 19.‘‘கோலியாத் என்னை மன்னிச்சுடு. உன் நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு இல்லாமல் போயிடுச்சு'' என்றான் டினேஸ். 20.‘‘விடு நண்பா... நீ சரியான நேரத்துக்கு வந்து சேர்ந்ததே போதும்'' என்றான் கோலியாத். 21.குடிசையில் இருந்த தாத்தா இதெயெல்லாம் பார்த்துட்டிருந்தார். அவர் ஊர் மக்களிடம் ‘‘தவளைகளின் பிரார்த்தனைதான் இன்று நமக்கு மழை கிடைக்க காரணம். அவங்களுக்கு நன்றி சொல்வோம்'' என்றார். எல்லோரும் அந்த ஏரிக்கரையில் வழிபட்டார்கள். 22.‘‘அன்று முதல் தவளை கத்தினால் மழை வரும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை மக்களிடம் உருவாச்சு இயற்கையை நம்பினால் அது நம்மை கைவிடாது. இயற்கையோடு சேர்ந்து வாழணும்’’ என்று இளவரசிக்குச் சொன்னேன். 23.அந்த நேரம் அங்கே வந்த ராஜா, இளவரசியைச் சமாதானம் செய்து, அழைச்சுட்டுப் போனார். பெற்றோரின் கோபமும் இயற்கையின் கோபமும் ஒண்ணுதான்... ரொம்ப நாளைக்கு இருக்காது. அது நம் மீதுள்ள அக்கறையின் கோபம். நீங்களும் பெற்றவர்களையும் இயற்கையையும் மதிச்சு நடந்துக்கங்க! I have been telling stories for many years. Just to tell stories, I kept moving from place to place. Many years ago, I lived in a pond in the palace grounds. 2. Nowadays, you know of the swimming pools in big bungalows. We never live in swimming pools. It is man-made. In the name of cleanliness, the people chase us out of the man-made pools. Ponds are not like that. Many life forms live in the ponds. 3. OK! We will come back to the story. The king of the palace, one day, scolded the princess for some unknown reason. The princess was crying and sat down by the pond. To stop her crying, I drew her attention by speaking to the princess and later narrated a story to her. Now I will be telling the same story to you. 4. The story-telling frog. Goliath and Dinesh were two frogs, friends with each other. They remained together while eating, playing, and sleeping. In that lake, they had everything they needed. Goliath had an unfulfilled desire. He thought very often of seeing his mother and father and remained grief-stricken for his inability to do so. 5. Dinesh decided to somehow find relief for Goliath’s grief. He spoke to his friends and found out where Goliath’s parents lived: a pond, seven villages away from their lake. It would take at least two weeks to reach the parent’s pond. Dinesh sought help from a friend, the Hawk. 6. The Hawk was perceptive and told Dinesh, ‘’If you fall within the eyesight of another hawk, you will be its lunch. I will wrap you both up in a bag and carry you to the other pond with my beak. The Hawk did exactly that and took both to the pond, where the parents of Goliath lived. 7. Goliath jumped for joy seeing his parents. Dinesh was immensely happy to have given Goliath the best gift he could offer and told him that he would go back home, while Goliath stayed with his parents. 8. Goliath, hearing Dinesh, said to him, ‘’I will stay with you to the very end.’’ Goliath took leave of his parents and Dinesh was proud of Goliath’s friendship. The Hawk took them back to their original lake. 9. Many years went by, and the neighboring villagers took drinking water from the lake. The sun’s fierce rays had an adverse effect on the lake: the water level kept going down. Scores of frog’s eggs died from the heat. Goliath and Dinesh were heart-broken. 10. Snails, fish, toads and other life forms were suffering. Dinesh told Goliath, ’We should find another place.’ 11. Goliath did not agree with Dinesh and said, ‘’We should not leave our own place. Good things will happen in time. We will stay here.’’ 12. Dinesh told Goliath, ‘’You have mother and father. If things go bad, you can go back to your parents. What am I going to do? I will be in search of an ocean which will never go dry. Dinesh left Goliath in search of an ocean. 13. Goliath did not lose his faith: Rains will come; water will replenish the lake. He addressed the other friends, ‘’We all join and pray to Nature.’’ 14. That night, all frogs together began praying and continued their supplication for rains. A grandfather living in a hut by the lake could not stand the croaking sound of the frogs. He threw stones at the frogs because of the constant croaking. The frogs remained silent for a while and resumed their croaking supplication for the rains. 15. As Goliath suffered, Dinesh reached the sea with the help of his friends. Dinesh jumped into the sea. He was scratching all over. He could not stand the salty water. 16. He scolded the other frogs, saying, ‘’I put my trust in you. See what happened. It was a great mistake. 17. Dinesh was sorry that he did not listen to Goliath. Dinesh was back on his journey home. 18. At the same time, Nature was pleased with the supplication of the denizens of the lake and sent rains. All were happy and jumped for joy. Dinesh came there right on time and joined in their festivities. 19. Dinesh apologized to Goliath and said, ‘’Forgive me. I did not have the faith you had.’’ 20. Goliath was happy to see his friend back with him and said, ‘’You came at the right time. That was enough.’’ 21. The grandpa living in the hut watched all the happenings. He addressed the villagers and said, ‘’The prayers of the frogs brought rain. Let us express our thanks to them.’’ The villagers offered their prayers on the lakeside. 22. ‘’Since then, people believed that croaking by the frogs will bring rain. Nature, when trusted, will not let us down. We should live in cooperation with Nature.’’ That is what I told the young princess. 23. That time, the king came to the princess, made peace with her and took her back to the palace. Parent’s anger and Nature’s fury are the same. They do not last long. That anger is an expression of their love and care for us. You should respect your parents and Nature.
